Twister Game
Instructions and
Printable Game Mat
Twister is a branded commercial game currently marketed by Hasbro. It became a cultural sensation in the United States, its country of Origin, in the late 1960s through to the end of the 20th Century.
Twister is perhaps the first popular game that used the body parts of players to play the game. For this reason, it’s been accused of being a thinly disguised sex game, most likely because its popularity coincided with the sexual revolution. |

Twister is the Action Game that started it all! |
In any case, you have to agree that Twister was ahead of its time. To wit, recent video gaming consoles like Nintendo’s Wii, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s Playstation3 have integrated body motion from players as control input for video games. If you think about it, the game designers responsible for Twister came up with the idea first! |

What's Needed to Play a Game of Twister:
* a Twister Game Mat
* a Twister Spinner Device
* Two to Four players (or even more if you don’t mind a tight fit!)
* a Game Moderator to spin the Spinner Wheel device
About the Twister Game Mat:
The Twister Game Mat is made of tough vinyl plastic material. There are 20 to 24 bright colored spots painted on the surface in a 5x4 or 6x4 grid layout. Four colors are presented: Green, Yellow, Blue and Red. |

About the Twister Spinner Device:
The Twister Spinner Device resembles a clock dial or roulette wheel with 16 values.
Instead of numbers, the outcomes are a color-bodypart combination: Green, Yellow, Blue or Red; and, Lefthand, Righthand, Leftfoot, Rightfoot.

|
How to Play a Game of Twister:
The players decide on the order of play: who goes first, second, third, and so on.
The game moderator announces the current player then spins the wheel.
The outcome of the spinner wheel is a color-bodypart combination.
For example: “Left-Hand-Red”. This requires the current player to put his/her Left Hand on a Red Spot. If the player’s left hand is already resting on a red spot, then the player is supposed to move his/her left hand to another red spot.
In games with 4 players or less, only 1 player can occupy 1 spot. |

Getting Eliminated or Disqualified:
Any Player whose elbows, knees, or other body part touches the Twister Game Mat is disqualified from the game.
Winning the Game:
The last remaining player who survives disqualification wins the game. |
|
Our Alternate Twister Game Rules:
Instead of using the Twister Spinner Wheel Device, you can use 6-sided Dice in conjunction with the standard Twister Game Mat.
Roll once to determine the Color you need to play.
Then roll a second time to determine the Body Part you need to play.
This following chart is your guide to interpreting the Die Rolls.
Take Note: when you Roll a "NO Color", you are supposed to "free-up" the corresponding body part; this means you have to stop touching the mat with said body part. |

Playing Twister with the use of 2-Dice instead of the Twister Spinner Wheel:
A suggestion: If you have colored dice in 2 different colors, you can roll both at once. You just have to assign 1 die for Colors and the other die for body parts.

Printing Instructions: You can take our Free Printable Twister Mat to a wide-format printing service and tell them to print on tarpaulin size of your preference.
Because our version of the Twister Game Mat uses 6 colors, we recommend a canvas size of 5feet x 5feet or smaller. If you print it on bigger canvas size, it becomes unplayable since some of the colored spots will be spaced too far apart. |
